DISCOVER THE
Wetplate collodion
workshop
from chemical preparation to plate scattering
Wet collodion is one of the very first photographic techniques and remains to this day one of the most fascinating and stimulating ways of creating photographs. On the whole it is relatively complex and requires different materials and equipment but it can give strong emotions every time!

A fantastic experience that will stay forever
WHAT IS
The workshop will offer a comprehensive overview of ancient photographic technique, exploring the materials needed, the basic steps in the procedure and the main challenges that may arise during the process. The participants will not only observe, but they can “get their hands dirty” by making a plate. It will be an opportunity to approach the fascination of pouring collodion with your own hands, use an optical bench and develop the image in a darkroom.
This practical experience will be enriched by insights into the theoretical and historical aspects of photography at collodion, highlighting the value of these techniques in contemporary photography. In addition to the manual part, each participant will experience the unique sensations that emerge at every stage: from the precision required in pouring collodion, to concentration in using the optical bench, to the magic of the camera oscura, where the images will come to life. Not just a course, then, but a total immersion in artisanal photography, which aims to transmit a direct link with the material and a deep respect for the most authentic and lasting photographic processes.
